Tourism

In 1904/05 the Montreux Oberland bernois-train (MOB), and in 1913 the Palace-Hotel of Gstaad were built. The development of the local tourism began with it. Today this is the most important branch of economy of the Saanen-County. Mountaineering equipment, snow shoes, horse sledges, Bobsleigh and the whole ski evolution is showed up to the world-masterly giant slalom ski of local star Michael von Grünigen, testifiing the touristic progress.
